N.T. Section of Great Central Road

The Northern Territory section of the Great Central Road we have been lead to believe was the worst of all, but we were lucky as the graders were at Docker River so the road was as good as the WA side, with both good and bad sections the NT side is more sand and they were the worst sections for being rough.

We had a good run to the Olga`s so called in for a look walked around they are mind boggling!!!!

Then off to Ayres Rock Campground for 3 nights.
It was decided to go straight to the campground and get setup.
What we found out was that if you come through the Great Central Road then call into the Olga`s on the way as once you come past them it will cost you $25.00 per person for 3 day pass to go to Ayres Rock and The Olga`s as it is National Parks.
Desma part way up the rock
Graham and Tim part way up the rock

Saturday Lazy day NOT LIKELY cleaning , washing, cooking etc still had to be done, also planning on where we are off to next!
There were lots of school student tour buses at the camp ground loaded with teenagers who made using the showers and loo quite a challenge, they were quite noisy at night as well.

OK in our opinion the Olga`s are more impressive than Ayres Rock, but because we are here we had to look.

When leaving here we headed for Kings Canyon everywhere we stopped we met up with the school tour groups teenagers everywhere Yabba Yabba yabba!!
Once again the countryside is very scenic, no sign of much wild life at all, very few birds, no roos at all.
Kings Canyon Spectacular!!!!!
Julian and Errol did a helicopter flight while the rest of us did the short canyon walk. The rim walk of 7ks was closed because of hot weather. It was definitely worth the trip out here. If you want to do the rim walk you need to be at the canyon and started the walk before 9am as they closed the gate at 9am in hot weather. Which is why we missed out we stayed in bed to long!!!!

After their flight Errol, Wendy, Sue & Tony went on to the Henbury Meteorite Craters.
