The latest on Tony and Sue`s car is the injectors have to be sent to Townsville, so it will be a few more days before it is fixed.

After leaving the Burdekin Falls dam we stopped off at Ravenswood. An old mining town where we had a quick look around the town and the mine lookout.

We moved on to Reid river rest area for the night. While sitting relaxing a car pulled in next to the rubbish bin and a young lady got out and preceded to empty things into the bin no sign of the driver. When they pulled away the back corner vent on the driver`s side was broken and we all said looks like a stolen car. We all checked the bin to find personal papers and a car radio with no face also other bits and pieces. We thought no more about it and went on our way the next morning.

We headed for Ayr and Home hill to a free camp in the town of Home hill to wait for Tony and Sue. Found the free camp between the rail line and highway right in the centre of town. Checked out the town, Kathy went and got her hair cut. After a very noisy night and broken sleep. We visited Ashworths Rock & Gem Shop well worth the time spent there.

We rang Sue only to hear it was going to be days longer for the car to be fixed. Decided to head back to Townsville leave our Caravan in the Caravan Park. We set our van up emptied the car then on to Charters Towers to get Tony and Sue and their caravan. We will sort out and collect the car when it is ready.

Had a really good run there and back. We are all together again now have the vans all setup with a communal area in the middle. Only have a bit of difficulty when we want to go out in a car with 5 seats and 6 people, we manage.

Turns out there was a police car chase in Charters Towers the night we saw the car at Reid river yes it was a stolen car this is what it looked like when they were caught, the police used stingers to stop them. We wish now we had collected the personal papers from the bin and handed them in.
