In the caravan park
It is overcast and quite nice outside at the moment
lots of flies and suppose to get to the low 30`s today. The country side is
looking really green around here from the rain a few weeks ago.
We stopped at
Pootnoura rest area for a cuppa with the flies, so all sat in the caravan for
peace and no arm waving.
Decide Marla south rest area was it for the day, so
setup to rest. Tim found that the fridge in the van was not working on 12 volt,
so he and Graham pulled things apart to solve the problem. The list of things
to buy in Alice Springs grew longer. They turned the fridge onto gas to keep it
nice and cold. Having decided that a heavy wire just for the fridge was needed
to run from the front of the Toyota to the fridge in van, more on the list…
Desma cooked a yummy Banana cake which we all
scoffed off at afternoon tea. We met a lovely young Swedish lady traveling by
herself on a trip to Australia. She has only done the east coast and down
through the middle to Adelaide then back to Melbourne to fly home. She hopes to
come back and do WA and the Pilbara in the next couple of years or so. A lovely sunset had
the cameras out.
Off again in the morning the border being our next
stop. The country is still looking very green in places and there is quite a
lot of water laying in places we can see from the road. Arriving at the border
we were not impressed by the state of the public toliets, some people are downright
disgusting with what they do.
Tim was a real gentleman and cleaned up the
disgusting mess so it is fit for others to use!!!!!!!!
Continuing on
we came across 4 young Thursday islanders stopped on the side of the road. It
seemed that they had seized their motor in the car, after the boys tried to
start it for them with no luck.
We left them with more water and continued onto
Erldunda and informed them of their plight.
We moved onto Desert Oaks Rest Area for the night, a
lovely spot alongside the road it is also a truck stop and we have to say the
ones that came in during the night were all very quiet and considerate of the
people sleeping there.
Next stop will be Temple Bar Caravan Park about 15ks
out of Alice Springs for a couple of days to restock the food and shop for
whats on the list. A site is only $22 a night with $2 for power per day.
We are camped right at the base of this rocky range in the caravan park.
See you next time cheers from us 4.
Love the photo of the sunset, just beautiful. and the Rocky ranges at the caravan park look interesting. xxxx Maudie.
