Yallunda Flats Showgrounds

After a week in Elliston we decided it was time to find somewhere quiet for Easter. Upon checking the map and Camps 8 Yallunda Flats Showgrounds looked promising set halfway between Cummins and Tumby Bay.

When we arrived at Cummins a rural farming town Graham spied a truck service centre so decided to check if it was possible to obtain the required seal for the truck diff. They said yes after much checking that it was possible to have it in town on the Wednesday after Easter.

 Bakery yummy food
War memorial Mogas on the right is where Graham fixed the truck.

This made us definite that we would stay at Yallunda Flats Showgrounds. Kathy while buying a lotto ticket was asked where we were staying for Easter and the lady upon hearing Yallunda Flats Showgrounds said there was to be a family reunion out there over Easter and there was expected to be hundred odd people camped there.
We all said that’s where we are going.
When we arrived after much looking we set up near the Hillbilly Bar which had new flushing toilets which we could use, also a tap where we could obtain water.

Couple old boys playing with fire!!!
Lots and lots of Millipeds on the ground where it was damp.

 A different one Tim found.

The only down side was that some people had bought a go kart and others a small motorbike which the young one proceeded to roar around passed the caravans and campers not thinking that it might be annoying for others.
After a few words they stayed away from our area and we were able to get our ladder golf out and play a few rounds with much laughter being had by all.
The family reunion did not seem to be well attended as there were not many campers,

After a relaxing weekend we packed up and headed back into Cummins to see if the part had arrived.
Tim had discovered that the regulator for the gas bottles on the van was leaking so while in town went to the hardware store to get a new one mmmm the one they had did not fit.
Grahams part had not arrived so it was decided we would head for Port Lincoln to get the gas sorted while Graham and Desma waited until the next day for the seal and to fix the truck then they would meet us in the caravan park in Port Lincoln once fixed.

Arriving in Port Lincoln we got set up then headed into town to get the parts we needed for the gas $110 later we had what we needed. All fixed now.
Thursday morning Tim and I took a drive out to Coffin Bay for a look there are lots and lots of holiday rental cottages and apartments as well as the caravan park. It is quite a pretty place though we were not impressed with the beaches too hard to get to and not very nice also not a lot of places for people to pull off to park and just soak up the scenery. Did not impress us enough to want to come back.

Graham and Desma after fixing the truck and coming to Port Lincoln went straight to the vet with Mischief to get him checked out. Turns out he has pancreatitis which is not good. The boys have gone fishing so I am busy writing this for you all.

Take care until next time.
