33 Clermont Museum

Clermont was our next stop to check out the museum, well worth it, the ladies on duty were very helpful. The museum is in the process of being updated in some areas they were closed off. Still a lot to see.

We were able to refill our water tanks from an outside tap, so while that was happening we had lunch.

Came across the Clermont Coal Mine after leaving town with a long conveyer belt at the side of the road, it had to be about 5ks long to railhead. We crossed a bridge over the rail line where a train was traveling, the train was about 1kilometre long.

32 Botanical Gardens Emerald

Wow with the traffic, Cars, Trucks, Birds, Train as well we had a very noisy disturbed night!

Left there after checking out the gardens, 38 acres in total very beautiful in spots. The Devils Ivy has been left to go wild in some areas and has covered the ground and grown up around palms and trees looks really effective. Well worth the walk around.

The historic rail station is still a fully operational station so nothing to see but the outside.

31 Virgin Rock

The eastern tipoff the Carnarvan Ranges are beautiful, so glad we all decided to come this way grassy plains look a bit dry but must be enough for cattle.
We free camped just out of Roma for the night at the side of the road in a blue metal dump had a beautiful view of the countryside.

Here on the Staircase Range they have palms not grassboys growing everywhere.
Springsure definitely is a place to visit spectacular rock formations to admire in the Minerva Hills National Park. Virgin rock free camp was our chosen spot for the night is right at the base of the rocks. Unfortunately there were others already parked up and it was right on the road so we decided after photo session to continue along.

The countryside flattened out again and at Grindle there were more maize crops coming into Emerald we camped the night outside the Botanical Gardens right on the highway.
