Leaving
Gabyon this morning we travelled on the dirt road through old Wuraga town site
which is now piles of old timbers and tin to mark where the old railway town
use to be.
Moving on the
flowers along the edge of the road look lovely some looking like snow fields
they are so white.
We came to where the dirt now meets the sealed road what a
change.
Further along
the road we came to a sign that said
“Gullewa Cemetery” we both commented that we
had no idea there was a cemetery out here, so in we went for a look.
Discovering 7 graves all have been cleared of
bush fixed up and is now enclosed within a fenced area with a metal plague
listing the people buried here. It is lovely to see the graves being taken care
of and looked after.
There is
also a mine working again a short distance away.
The road
between Yalgoo and Morawa has now been fully sealed which made the journey much
easier. It was great to see places which we both know from years ago again. The
wreath flowers are in bloom near the old farm there is now a plague to mark the
spot for tourists.
The majority
of the crops in the area are looking really good.
Morawa
itself was a real surprise with a new main road straight through the centre of
town where the shunting rail lines use to run. One now has to turn off to get
to the Main Street and business sector. The garden that use to be across from
the post office has all been removed and a huge parking area new lawn and paved
areas with public toilets, it looks lovely and is delightful place in the centre
of town. Congratulations to the shire on the improvements. As it is now a very
RV friendly town.
We did some
shopping visited Dad and Bob then onto Caron Dam for a couple of days.
The weather
is lovely during the day warm with sunshine hope it continues.
Gee things have changed in central Morawa looks good now flowers and crops looking good also love us
