Casuarina Coastal Reserve

Today Tim and I took a drive to Casuarina Coastal Reserve to check out the Dripstone Cliffs on the beach. The reserve is beautiful and green, lots of grass and shady trees with tables set around in odd places a bicycle/walking track runs along the coast from the city centre out to here.

The beach below is quite wide and flat and is the dog beach as well, lots of people and their dogs out walking and playing in the water.
The water actually drips out of the rocks onto the beach quite a few birds were drinking in the spots where it is dripping. That is what we came to see.

Lots of little Hermit crabs roaming the beach
Creeper hanging from the top of the cliff
This tree is still growing quite happily with its roots exposed

Water dripping out of the cliff
One rusty diff whats left of the vehicle is a bit further over

We then moved onto East Point reserve, driving along Fannie Bay the water is a beautiful turquoise colour on a sandy beach.  Lots more grass and shady trees for people to while away the time.

Checked out the WWII Gun bunker and other sites in the area.

Semi buried ammo magazines in the distance

Whats left of The Right Hand Tower

We are impressed by the amount of sites to do with WWII.
Then back to the van hot sore feet need a rest.
