Picked the
Manbulloo Homestead Caravan Park as the place to stay, being 10 ks out of town
it should be quiet. The park is shaded in sections open and sunny in others.
The amenities are quite dated and in the process of being painted and retiled
while we were here, but they have put in a uni-sex block for park patrons to
use.
The
Katherine river runs along the side of the park with a walkway to access it,
then is just a dirt track down to the water through grass and trees.
Tim and
Graham have been trying their luck with the pots and lines again being aware
that a couple of big salt water crocs have been seen here in the last couple of
weeks.
Tim & I
had booked a 2 hour tour for Sunday at 11am to do 2 gorges although we have to
drive out to the gorge to get on the boat about 30 minutes away.
We really
enjoyed it and are glad we spent the money.
Here are photos
As our
family and quite a lot of others are now aware while staying at the caravan
park we had branches fall onto the Toyota doing some damage. Broken Window
screen, damaged bonnet and other bits. The Toyota is still driveable thank
goodness so as we were lucky enough to get the window screen fixed the next
morning we continued on our way. The Insurance companies can do the fighting
over it now.
We are going
to Darwin!
Hi all, Loving the photos, sorry to see you had a tree fall on the Toyota hope you have had it fixed now. Happy Mothers day for tomorrow for you ladies, hope it's a good one. Love Maudie.
