An easy trip from Ingham through to Cardwell. The scenery
was absolutely beautiful; we stopped at the lookout at the top of the range
which looks out to Hinchinbrook Island really lovely. A complete new section of
highway with the lookout incorporated into it.
Arriving at Cardwell the GPS said turn right for the caravan
park….. Yer right!!!!
We would have ended up in the ocean as food for the crocs if
we listened to that thing.
As under the jetty is a big croc called Bruiser who has
already taken 6 dogs off the beach!!!
Turning left was the way to go, all set up at the park we
walked the couple of blocks to the Information centre.
It was really interesting, informative information contained
within.
Lots of history in the Rainforest and Reef centre.
The door has hand carved handles really beautiful.
All created and carved by hand also hand painted, a fantastic job by whoever worked on it.
Cardwell is a delightful town not very big but looks lovely
and would be a wonderful place to live.
The builder had to have a cage built around
him to protect him from the crocodiles while building these steps though we have not seen any yet……
The photos are great don't think I'd like to meet a crab that size, he'd be a bit scary,
ReplyDeleteThe scenery looks lovely and love the way the sea scene are set out in the museum
Take care love Jean & Geoff xxxx
