60 Etty Beach / Mourilyn Harbour

After some lunch we set off for Etty Beach to try and see some Cassowary.

Etty Beach is the first beach that we really liked and could stay there, as we were looking at the sights low and behold down the beach comes a dad Cassowary and half grown chick. Both have learn`t to check out around the picnic tables, parked cars and bins for food.

Although there are signs everywhere saying “Do not feed the native wildlife”.

The reflection on a bumper bar caught the eye of dad and he got very protective and upset with another bird so close to his chick.

They are quite a big bird and do look really strong and solid so we were a little cautious around them.

From here we went to Mourilyan Harbour where Sugar is shipped from, this was another place we really liked.
By the boat ramp was an ocean going catamaran that had been run aground with a lot of damage to the starboard pontoon.
