27 Mothers Day Sunday 11/5/14

Left Porters Place at about 8:15am. Travelling in this line Porta House Graham & Desma, Our Taj Mahal Tim & Kathy, Somewhere sometime Tony & Sue with Peter bringing up the rear as he is leaving us to head for Melbourne later.

We hit fog going through the valleys between Blackbutt and Yarraman.

Turned off at Yarraman nice country again though heaps and heaps of Lantana growing on the sides of the road all in flower it is a weed in Queensland and is just everywhere.
Stopped at Cooyar to check out the swinging bridge Graham had fun jumping and moving from side to side to get it moving. This time Sue & I stayed on solid dirt. Chickens we know!!!

Leaving here we turned onto the Bunya Highway at Kaimkillenbun suddenly the country is flat flood plain for miles and miles.
Peter left us in Dalby where we had a loo break.
Graham said that Dalby was flooded in the last floods there are a lot of new looking homes.
More cotton growing here along the sides of the road.
MacAlister has a railway loading facility so must be a lot of grains stored here.

The roads have suffered quite bit from the floods and are really rough makes one feel almost seasick as we travel long.
Checked out the Chinchilla information centre and the Pioneer Cemetery across the road, drove out to the Chinchilla Weir to camp for the night.

The ground here looks really dry like they need more rain.
