Moving on this morning had a cuppa with Paul and Merlene
they had friend George visiting.
Talked about the cotton and verified what had been said
previously.
Cute little shop in Burren Junction outside is all pressed
tin.
Leaving them we moved on through Wee Waa to Narribri. At the
information centre there was more about the cotton. Inside the building there
was an old cotton harvester (Anyone would think there was a cotton industry
here) had managed to see a cotton crop from the fence on the road side.
We did a walk through town to the Old Goal Heritage Centre
Museum with more on farming and hospital items. The resident gaoler and family
lived in the front 4 rooms with a door closing the prison in the back half off.
Out the back of the building was the Black trackers cottage.
All very interesting a special treat for the ladies here
check these undies out!!!
The town looks lovely has what I think is Orange scented Jasmin
bushes trimmed as hedges on all corners of the main street.
The country is still changing mostly flat still irrigated.
We then turned to go through Mount Kaputar National Park
could not stay because of Emma dog. The
Sawn Rocks car park was actually outside the park so were able to leave Emma in
the caravan while we walked to the rocks inside the National Park.
Well worth the walk.
A lot of twists and turns in the road hairpin bends down to
2nd & 3rd gear later we were over the top and down
the other side in the same gears…. At the bottom it was back to farming land
with crops coming up already.
Sue and Tony as we go around a hairpin bend.
Stony Creek is our choice of campsite for tonight more on
that later.
